What is better, aluminium or steel doors?
For steel-look doors and windows, steel is of course, the genuine article but it is also a lot more expensive than aluminium, because of the material cost and the way it is made, with a fully welded construction. Aluminium is not welded but modern steel-look doors and windows can provide similar styling to steel with great effect, both outside and inside your home.
What is a Crittall® style door?
The distinctive and on-trend appearance of a Crittall® style door naturally belongs to the genuine article. In aluminium, this style of glazing comes with the same multiple panes of glass using glazing bars, deep bottom rails if you want them and even the familiar thicker plate behind the door handle. Usually these are black in colour, although you can have them in any colour you like.
Are internal steel-look doors fire-rated?
Aluminium has no fire rating, so if you need steel-look doors with either 30, 60 or 90 minutes fire protection these have to be a suitable steel system with the appropriate fire certification.
What is a heritage door?
There are several descriptions for this popular style of glazing, including steel-look, Art-Deco, Heritage, Industrial, Scandi or Hygge. All of these are intended to describe windows and doors made of slimline aluminium profiles. The glazing bars provide the grid-like pattern of industrial glazing or classic metal windows and doors.
