SMARTIA M450. Slim by design
The M450 is part of the Alumil SMARTIA range, a technically advanced system that ADW is among the first fabricators in the UK to manufacture. It represents a fresh generation of residential sliding doors, combining genuinely slim proportions at a great price point and the right choice for the majority of contemporary home projects.
With a 45mm sash depth and interlocks as narrow as 25mm, Alumil M450 creates a light, open appearance that standard sliding door systems simply cannot match. And it is a fully beaded system, without the future complexity of bonded sliding doors, meaning servicing is easy by any professional glazier.
Sliding and lift-and-slide operation
ALUMIL SMARTIA M450 is available in both standard sliding and lift-and-slide variants, allowing the right operation to be selected based on panel size and user preference. Standard sliding suits typical residential openings where straightforward, reliable movement is the priority.
Lift-and-slide raises the panel slightly when the handle is turned — reducing friction, allowing larger panels to move smoothly and dropping back onto full seals when closed and locked. Both variants share identical slim profiles and visual appearance.
Ideal for replacement projects
Alumil M450 is particularly well suited to replacing dated patio doors where a clear visual and performance improvement is the goal. The slim profiles and contemporary appearance represent a significant step up from older aluminium or PVCu systems.
In many cases the system can be installed into an existing structural opening without extensive modification, reducing complexity and cost, but with substantial thermal, security and styling improvements.
Personalisation Options
M450 is finished using powder coating, anodising or dual-colour options where internal and external colours differ. A broad range of colours is available including standard RAL colours, metallic finishes and wood-effect treatments. Double glazing is standard; triple glazing can be specified where improved thermal or acoustic performance is required.
