Alumil SF85 – engineered for scale
The SF85 offers homeowners, architects and housebuilders and exceptional bifold with a global reputation when you want more from your glazing. Even larger panels, greater structural capacity and enhanced thermal performance.
With meeting sightlines of approximately 120mm, SF85 delivers sighlines associated with bifolds that cannot go to the extreme sizes. With double high specification glass, U-values of 1.3 W/m²K are possible, getting even lower with th triple glazed units where energy specifications demand it.

Panel sizes and structural capacity
SF85 supports wider and taller panels than compact bifold systems, using fewer panels to span larger openings and increasing the proportion of glass in the process. Dedicated heavy-duty hardware and robust roller assemblies deliver predictable movement and long-term durability even on the largest residential and light commercial installations.
PAS 24 compliance is achievable when specified correctly with appropriate hardware and laminated glazing. Four-way shoot bolts provide comprehensive perimeter engagement — serious security for doors operating at architectural scale.
Matching single and French doors
Single doors and French doors can be produced from the same SF85 profile suite, allowing a unified appearance across multiple openings on the same elevation. Matching sightlines, thermal performance and hardware across different door types — no mismatched profiles, no visual inconsistency on a building that deserves better.
This is one of the clear advantages of the Alumil system range: compatible profiles across product types, allowing ADW to maintain a coherent design language across your entire project.

Thermal and acoustic performance
SF85 delivers strong thermal performance through deep polyamide breaks, insulated chambers and appropriate glazing specifications. Triple glazing can be specified where energy requirements or exposed locations demand enhanced insulation. The deeper frame depth accommodates thicker units without compromising structural capacity or the smoothness of operation.
Acoustic performance benefits directly from the same insulation and sealing measures, providing meaningful sound reduction — particularly relevant for larger openings where glass area and sound transmission are both at their greatest.
Personalisation Options
SF85 is finished using powder coating, anodising or dual-colour options where internal and external colours differ. A broad palette is available including standard RAL colours, metallic finishes and wood-effect treatments.
Glass specifications are selected based on energy requirements, security needs and budget. Toughened or laminated glass is used where required. Low-iron, solar control and obscured glass are available where appropriate to the project.
